Kar Kraft number 1856, this 1969 Ford Mustang Boss 429 was sold by Costner Eagleton Motors to Harold Murr of Merryville, Tennessee, who in 1972 sold it to James Boruff, also of Maryville. Mr. Boruff owned the car for the next 25 years, during which time it was restored to the highest possible standards. The restoration made ample use of NOS “Thoroughbred” parts while retaining a very high degree of originality, including the original, rust-free sheet metal, Deluxe Décor interior, 820-T 429/375 HP engine and drivetrain, glass and brightwork. Special care was taken to refinish the engine compartment and undercarriage using the correct specific metal coatings, plating treatments and paint finishes. In early 2014, renowned Mustang restoration expert Bob Perkins, owner of Perkins Restorations in Juneau, Wisconsin, skillfully detailed the car, again with special emphasis on the engine compartment and undercarriage. Soon thereafter the car was awarded Trailer Concours Gold honors in 2014 at the MCA National in Springfield, Illinois, with a score of 693 of 700 points.
