    Dealer Notes

This is a great opportunity for the right buyer to get into a desirable and appreciating 1992 Mitsubishi 3000 GT VR4 Twin Turbo at a great price point!!! This example is a very solid car mechanically and will be for the buyer that does not mind driving and enjoying the car while making the cosmetic improvements over time to bring it back to the beauty it was when new!!! It has a clean Autocheck!! It has 126k actual miles. The story on the car is as follows. It was sold new in the Chicago area to a young Doctor that actually drove the car to about 100k miles. He moved from the Chicago area to Indianapolis several years ago and our Mitsubishi dealership serviced it a few times. At about 100k miles the motor blew and threw a rod through the block. He decided not to fix it and bought a new car and we ended up with it. Our lead mechanic bought the car a couple of years ago and replaced the damaged short block with a freshly rebuilt short block. He has driven it, mostly in good weather, since then and has added about 25k miles over that time. He is selling it to make some improvements to his home. The good things about the car are that it runs and drives great and looks great from 10 feet away. Most of the power accessories work correctly including the front and rear active aero spoilers. It has good brakes, tires the air conditioning blows cold and the heater blows hot. The aftermarket stereo works well. It does have the ABS light on which he has never addressed. The digital display on the temperature control unit stopped illuminating as many do not which is a common problem. The cosmetic issues are mostly very superficial and easy to fix for the right person. There are many door dings that could be taken out by a good paintless dent removal technician. There is paint damage on the front and rear bumpers and on the lower side body cladding which I have tried to show in the photos. The drivers rear view mirror is faded and the hood has some paint imperfections as well. Th Consumer Reviews

    • Very fast, good looking car. Very expensive tho

Currently own 2 of these cars, very well built good quality cars. The vr4 model is a must but is more expensive and requires more maintenance. If you don't care for the twin turbo v6 or awd just buy an SL or base model. Be mechanically inclined to fix it your self or your wallet will suffer. Not a difficult car to work on but a lot of mechanics don't know how to work on them. The clear coat is very prone to pealing so plan on waxing the car frequently but body holds up really well. 23 years later still no rust. These cars seem to be the most unappreciated japanese sports car from the 90s but the people that know what they are or own them love them. Overview, I love the car, my wallet is not a fan of it. If you're looking for a sports car you can just throw gas, oil and cheep parts at, buy a different car. :)

I have had this car for 28 years. I have garaged the car throughout its life and this car has only seen rain about 5 times. It has been flawless. All parts are original except for a new clutch about 10 years ago. This car handles and performs like no other car I have ever owned. I can’t say enough about the way this car was engineered. Awesome!!!!!!
