Step back in time with this stunning 1966 Plymouth Barracuda Sport Coupe, a car that has been cherished and preserved throughout its life. Built at the Los Angeles plant on January 6, 1966, this classic was sold new on June 6, 1966, by Vines Chrysler Plymouth of Long Beach, California. Its journey began with its first owner in Long Beach, who kept it until June 20, 1967, when it found a new home with its second owner in nearby Lakewood, California.
For nearly two decades, the Barracuda stayed in California until the second owners relocated to Georgetown, Texas, in 1985. They continued to care for the car until 2001, when it was sold to a third owner in Cypress, Texas. Under their ownership, it remained in loving hands until June 11, 2019, when it joined the collection of an Indianapolis-based enthusiast. Finally, in November 2024, we were fortunate to acquire this exceptional example, which has been preserved as a true testament to its era.
Finished in its original Bronze Metallic paint with a factory white bucket seat interior, this Barracuda is a beautiful sight. The exterior has undergone a high-quality repaint that maintains its factory charm, while the interior remains an authentic representation of mid-century style. Under the hood lies the original 273 cubic inch V8 engine, paired with an automatic transmission. The engine has been upgraded with a factory four-barrel intake and an Edelbrock carburetor to enhance performance while preserving its vintage character.
Additional features include factory air conditioning, a console, a driver's-side remote control mirror, and an AM radio. To complete its stylish look, the car now rides on new Cragar Classic wheels with radial tires, though the original wheels and hubcaps are included for purists.
This Barracuda has been lovingly maintained, with extensive service and parts receipts documenting its journey. It runs and drives beautifully, offering a smooth, reliable experience behind the wheel.
A true survivor, this car's rust-free history and well-documented ownership make it a rare gem. If you're searching for a classic Barracuda with style, performance, and an incredible story, don't let this one slip away!!!
